A new medical research has revealed the fact that those who take regular exercise cut their risk of colon cancer by 25 per cent.
The study further confirmed that even walking reduces the likelihood of developing colon cancer, which is one of the most common cancers. Meanwhile, the analysis showed that the benefit of the physical exercise was the same for both men and women.
The results of the study are published in the advanced online 10 February issue of the British Journal of Cancer. It is believed that exercise cuts the risk of colon cancer by reducing weight and increasing the speed at which cancer-causing chemicals in food pass through the gut.
According to researchers, regular workout can also help reduce bowel inflammation and the level of hormones linked to the growth of tumors.
